LeBron James of the Miami Heat is the winner of the Maurice Podoloff Trophy as the 2011-12 Kia NBA Most Valuable Player Award. James earns the honor for the third time in four seasons and becomes the first player since Michael Jordan to win at least three MVPs. James totaled 1,074 points, including 85 first-place votes, from a panel of 121 voters that consisted of sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada as well as an NBA.com MVP fan vote. James led the Heat to a 46-20 mark and the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference Playoffs. Despite averaging a career-low 37.5 minutes, the eight-time All-Star led the NBA in plus-minus score differential (+7.6) and ranked third in scoring (27.1 ppg), while pacing the Heat in assists (6.2 apg) and tying for the team lead in rebounds (7.9 rpg). In addition, James established career bests in field goal percentage (.531) and three-point field goal percentage (.362).

LeBron Torches Magic for 51 Points. Sets Miami Heat Record with 23 in First Quarter. »

LeBron James had a record-setting first half against the Orlando Magic on Thursday night. James set a Miami Heat record with a 23-point first quarter, then set a personal best by hitting his first 11 shots of the game. He finished with 51 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists for the most points in the NBA this season. “Anybody that questions my competitiveness, they must be looking at the game the wrong way,” James told TNT in a televised interview at halftime. James remains bothered by something Magic President Otis Smith said last summer. The Return: LeBron Shines in Cleveland. Debuts Triple Black PE and “UnChina” 8′s. »

He tuned out the boos. He smiled at the derisive chants. He embraced all the negativity Cleveland could muster. LeBron James wasn’t fazed by anything. He brought his talents back home and reminded everyone – even the haters – why he’s missed. Returning as a villain to his native state and the city he scorned this summer, James scored 38 points – 24 in a virtuoso third-quarter performance – to lead the Miami Heat to a 118-90 win on Thursday night, turning his hostile homecoming into another uneasy moment for the Cavaliers. This wasn’t the payback they waited five months to inflict. James simply wouldn’t allow it, but insisted his beatdown wasn’t personal. At one point this summer, he compiled a roster of enemies. “Cavs fans weren’t on my list,” he said. “I have the utmost respect for these fans. It’s nothing personal and it won’t be ever.” LeBron went into stealh mode by wearing the what seemed to be the Triple Black version of the Nike LeBron 8. However, his Player Exclusive pair features white Nike swoosh’s on both lateral and medial sides. Also, he introduced the so called UnChina colorway the day before in Detroit.

It’s been a summer of change for LeBron James. Actually, it’s been a summer of change for the whole NBA. LeBron’s choice to take his talents to South Beach have had an Ashton Kutcher-like butterfly effect on everything we know about the NBA. Everybody is trying to guess what will be the outcome of three NBA superstars joining forces on one team? Seems like basketball betting is having its fun with it as well. On paper Miami’s new “Big Three” looks unbeatable, but it might take some time for them to do the actual damage as in winning the Championship Ring. It will be definitely fun to watch them together next season, that’s for sure. Along with the change of scenario, King James switched his jersey number from #23 to #6. He incorporrated his old number into his signature so that had to change as well. We’ve seen the preview of his new sig via sample photos of his next season shoes – the LeBron VIII. Now it looks like things are official as Upper Deck released photos of LBJ’s new autographed memmorabilia. Via Ball Don’t Lie.

Right now it’s hard to imagine LeBron James playing for the new team. I mean, we all know what happened… he’s changed teams, he took his talents to South Beach, but it’s been absolutely unreal. I won’t believe it’s 100% true until the very first game. We can all prepare for the big day, buy LeBron’s new #6 Heat jerseys, play with the new Miami team in video games, however, we still haven’t tasted the real thing. The new season is two months away, which means players are back in the gym. Check out the video below showing LBJ getting some drills with Coach Spoelstra. Oh yeah, he’s wearing the Zoom Soldier IV.

Sorry, Chicago, New York and New Jersey. But, most of all… sorry Cleveland :(. LeBron James chose superstar help over the comforts of home and is heading for Miami because he wants to win a championship with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. “I can’t say it was always in my plans, because I never thought it was possible,” James said on a made-for-Lebron live show on ESPN. “But the things that the Miami Heat franchise have done, to free up cap space and be able to put themselves in a position this summer to have all three of us, it was hard to turn down. Those are two great players, two of the greatest players that we have in this game today.” Olympic teammates in Beijing, James, Bosh and Wade all helped deliver gold medals. This time, it’ll be about a gold trophy, the NBA championship one – the one Wade got in 2006, the one that James and Bosh have yet to touch. In Cleveland, the immediate reaction was predictably filled with outrage (see Dan Gilbert’s open letter to Cavs’ fans). Television images showed at least one fan burning James’ No. 23 wine-and-gold jersey. “I can’t get involved in that,” he said. “I wanted to do what was best for LeBron James … At the end of the day, I feel awful. I feel even worse that I wasn’t able to bring an NBA championship to that city. “To my real fans out there, I hope that you’ll continue to support me all the way to Miami.” via NBA.com. Kicks-wise… nothing changes… we’re still going to get Black, White and Red Nike LeBron sneakers. This time with no excuse for the Red not being Wine.

LeBron James has joined Twitter. Check out his official channel @KingJames. Apparently, his buddy Chris Paul convinced LBJ to join the social media fun. He had been reluctant to join Twitter or Facebook and had even joked in the past about how other athletes discussed their personal lives online. At this moment, in less than 24 hours, he’s surpassed 200,000 followers. James has yet to announce where he’ll play next season, a decision that could affect the future of several franchises and the city of Cleveland’s economy. Apparently, he will announce his future NBA plans during a one-hour special on ESPN network at 9 p.m Thursday. It is not known which team James will join or where the announcement will take place. Finally, James was late for the second day of his Skills Academy on Tuesday, but he did play along several Cavaliers teammates. He was spotted wearing an all black colorway of the upcoming Nike Air Max LeBron VIII.
