Moments after ringing in the new year, LeBron James surprised his high school sweetheart Savannah Brinson by popping the question – letting very few people in on the secret beforehand. Yes, she said yes. He did it at a party both to celebrate New Year’s Eve and his 27th birthday, which was Friday. “It should be a surprise for any woman anytime something like that happens,” James said. “She was surprised. It was great that all the friends and family were there to bring in a new year. Even my kids were happy about it, so that’s good… I feel good. I feel good. It’s a good point in my life right now.” What do you think about his outfit? In particular his interesting choice of kicks? Congratulations LeBron!

LeBron James Hoopin’ at Drew League in Grey LeBron 8 PS »

Last week LeBron James made a surprise appearance at Chris Chambers City League Classic nearby Cleveland. This past weekend, he stopped by the Drew League in Los Angeles for a game and he didn’t just watch, he decided to play, too. James impressed with his usual all-around game of dunks, jumpers, lay-ins, passes, and blocked shots. It’s very nice to see these highlights for proving that when you strip things like zero rings away, it can be pretty fun to watch him play basketball. The Drew League isn’t the NBA Finals, but it’s pretty cool nonetheless. Btw, he wore the Nike LeBron 8 PS in an unreleased Grey-ish colorway that he unveiled on Twitter sometime ago.

LeBron James’ Suprise Appearance at City League near Cleveland »

LeBron James decided to make a surprise appearance at the Chris Chambers City League Classic in Warrensville Heights, located just 17 miles outside of Cleveland. He was playing basketball with some of his old SVSM teammates such as Dru Joyce III and Romeo Travis. Playing just outside of Cleveland has some disadvantages these days, but just like the video shows everyone’s still cheering for him.

Report: Nike LeBron line to outfit Kentucky, Ohio State and Miami »

The University of Miami men’s basketball team will be sporting LeBron James branded Nike gear this coming season thanks to a sponsorship deal with the Miami Heat superstar. James will also be sponsoring Ohio State and Kentucky, but we already saw UK and OSU personalized LeBron kicks before. James has no direct ties to any of the three schools he’ll be sponsoring, but the Akron, Ohio native is known as an Ohio State fan. And he built a relationship with UM when he and some Heat teammates played pick-up games with Hurricanes players on campus last summer. I can imagine some pretty nice shoes for all three teams… hopefully they won’t be just PEs. Info via Sun Sentinel.

LeBron James is launching a new retail store named “Unknwn” in Miami for Fall 2011 and we’ve got all the details you need to know here. While today’s announcement seems sudden, plans for Unknwn have been in development with LeBron over the past couple years. Unknwn was originally set to be break ground in Akron, OH as a new lifestyle concept boutique. The name of the store was influenced by how “unknown” the city of Akron is. When last year’s “The Decision” happened and LeBron took his talents to South Beach, the name of the store stayed intact as moving to Miami still represented an unknown for LeBron and the Unknwn team.
