Recap: LeBron’s UNKNWN Miami Grand Opening Party »

This past Friday, December 16th 2011, LeBron James and a few buddies from his high school days opened a prime boutique in the heart of South Florida, called UNKNWN. UNKNWN is “an edgy positivity towards an abstract destiny,” said co-owner Chris Julian. They carry an array of upscale urban brands such as Tantum, COMME des Garçons, and Original x Fake. The footwear wall is equipped with 45 Apple iPads that constantly run videos and pages of information highlighting each specific piece of shoe. Check out the detailed pictures and video recap from the invite only event! Courtesy of Stickie.

The 2011 LeBron James Greater China Tour wrapped up with Opening of Nike Festival of Sport »

The 2011 LeBron James Greater China Tour ended its successful journey with a coaching clinic and the much-anticipated opening day of the first annual Nike Festival of Sport in Shanghai. The Game Changers basketball coaching clinic, held this morning at Shanghai Sports University, is an ongoing program aimed at teaching college students the importance coaching has in children’s lives. LeBron James practiced alongside the future coaches before delivering a speech on how adult coaches are able to positively influence the development of young minds through athletics. After snapping photos with the 100 participants, James went to a Nike Store located near People’s Square to talk about the Nike Festival of Sport with national Chinese media and to greet fans. Asked to give a review of the tour overall, James responded emphatically. “It’s been unbelievable to see the reception I’ve gotten, and to see all of these people who love the game of basketball and who are inspired by the game of basketball,” said James.

The 2011 LeBron James Basketball Tour Kicks Off in Taipei »

The 2011 LeBron James Basketball Tour kicked off its four-city journey this afternoon in Taipei, Taiwan, at the Taipei World Trade Center. Today’s focus was on two training sessions for two very special groups of basketball players, the children of the Eden Social Welfare Foundation and the Chinese Taipei U-19 national team. After warming up for ten minutes with two leading U.S. coaches, the group was joined by James, who came out to a loud ovation from the crowd and high fives from the kids. Shortly after, James joined the kids in various dribbling and shooting drills, where he could be heard encouraging the campers and even busting out a line or two of Mandarin, with hao qiu, meaning “nice play,” as his go-to. Aimed at both promoting grassroots basketball and serving the needs of local communities in Greater China, the tour will span eight days over four cities, Taipei, Chengdu, Xian and Shanghai. He debuted the upcoming shoe from his new collection… the Nike Zoom LBJ Ambassador IV.

NIKE LEBRON 8 PS (Post Season) Media Unveiling and Wear Test »

Just this morning we posted videos from Jason Petrie’s LeBron 8 PS presentation to the media that took place this past Friday in Miami. Now, as first reports have started to appear online, we have tons of photos to look at. Sneakernews has already posted their recap, which includes a cover of the shoe presentation and a media wear test down at the American Airlines Arena. The LEBRON 8 P.S., which stands for Post Season, is the third installment in LeBron James’ signature 8 series. This year a concept of “Ignite, Attack, Finish” was used as an inspiration and design. Nike is trying to be crystal clear in explaining the evolution of the Eight. Bottom line… their final product, which has received mixed reviewed based on looks, offers pinnacle performance, which can’t be overlooked. Detailed gallery after the break. UPDATE: New pics added via Nicekicks.com.
