LeBron James scored 23 points, Kyrie Irving provided a boost after missing two games and the Cleveland Cavaliers reserved a spot in the NBA Finals with a 118-88 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night to win the Eastern Conference title. James booked his fifth straight visit to the NBA Finals. He returned to Cleveland after four years in Miami and now is looking to end this city’s championship drought dating to 1964. LeBron nearly posted a series triple-double vs. the Hawks… he was only 3 assists away from completing the task. His averages were still out of this world… 30 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists. James carried the Cavs to their first finals appearance eight years ago, when they were swept by San Antonio. Now they can rest for 9 full days preparing to face either Golden State or Houston starting June 4.
Btw… the near free-throw line dunk was insane!
