LeBron James was annoyed by fouling out of Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals. He had only 1 personal foul in Game 5, but still played great defense… especially on Lance Stephenson – his “sometime-tormentor”. The mention of Stephenson’s request to guard James in Game 4 was a conversation-ender with him. The technical Stephenson drew on James for baiting him and the sixth foul Stephenson drew on James on a moving screen chewed at him for two days. In Game 5, James had to change his shoes at halftime (Aways -> Homes) and apparently his mentality as well. After beginning the game with an oddly passive style, LeBron shifted into “Video Game James” mode at the break and outscored the Pacers 16 to 13 in the third quarter all by himself. LeBron wasn’t attacking the rim all the time, but he didn’t need to with a jumper that hot. Having a hand in 25 of his team’s 30 points in the third quarter is one way to take control of a playoff series. James finished with 30 points, eight rebounds and six assists in the 90-79 win, putting the Heat one win away from a third straight Finals appearance. Check out the gallery below. Via Zimbio, ESPN.
