Breaking News: LeBron James is Headed to Miami to Join Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh »

Sorry, Chicago, New York and New Jersey. But, most of all… sorry Cleveland :(. LeBron James chose superstar help over the comforts of home and is heading for Miami because he wants to win a championship with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. “I can’t say it was always in my plans, because I never thought it was possible,” James said on a made-for-Lebron live show on ESPN. “But the things that the Miami Heat franchise have done, to free up cap space and be able to put themselves in a position this summer to have all three of us, it was hard to turn down. Those are two great players, two of the greatest players that we have in this game today.” Olympic teammates in Beijing, James, Bosh and Wade all helped deliver gold medals. This time, it’ll be about a gold trophy, the NBA championship one – the one Wade got in 2006, the one that James and Bosh have yet to touch. In Cleveland, the immediate reaction was predictably filled with outrage (see Dan Gilbert’s open letter to Cavs’ fans). Television images showed at least one fan burning James’ No. 23 wine-and-gold jersey. “I can’t get involved in that,” he said. “I wanted to do what was best for LeBron James … At the end of the day, I feel awful. I feel even worse that I wasn’t able to bring an NBA championship to that city. “To my real fans out there, I hope that you’ll continue to support me all the way to Miami.” via NBA.com. Kicks-wise… nothing changes… we’re still going to get Black, White and Red Nike LeBron sneakers. This time with no excuse for the Red not being Wine.

  • Somehow I feel very sad. It’s an end on an era. But I will continue to support LeBron all the way.

  • now the champioship

  • sik_one

I’m excited to say the least.

To the Cav’s owner and retard person who burned his Jersey and have it televised, way to be immature. Bron gave it all he got for 7 years and this is how they treat him.

  • I stay a Cavalier fan, good luck Bron!

  • Lebronfan

I feel so sorry for the Cleveland Cavaliers, specially it’s owner Dan Gilbert… I feel you. It’s just so sad… I wish he had stayed in cleveland… I’m a LeBron James fan, but looking at the last playoff games, he should’ve stayed and allowed the team to bring talent over to you and reclaim yourself… I still love the triumvarate in miami though.. but still wish he should’ve stayed… foolish Lebron, still a fan though… but now I’m leaning on Kobe more… just like in the old days…now i know he’s not gonna be as good as michael was, or magic, or even larry bird or not even gonna pass kobe, or wade they all win their respective championships with one team… my sentiments Cavs….

  • jr_lyon

I’m a Lebron fan 100% so I support him in whatever he does! I think he made the right choice. There was no reason for him to stay in Cleveland. He wants to win and it was very clear that Cleveland wasn’t the place to get it done. I can’t wait to see what happens this season. Could Lebron, Wade, and Bosh be the next Jordan, Pippen, and Rodman???

  • LRJ6

No man, that’s the new Pierce – Allen – Garnett. :!:

  • SAME HERE! KOBE! I have a feeling Lakers will get the Champ again. Cause of Phil Jackson is staying. That old fart don’t know how to retire but he still can bring LA Champ AGAIN! LOL!

  • Dan should thank LeBron for 7 years of hard work before calling him out. Not cool my man.

  • cmb0912

yeah that was really classless by dan gilbert. he sounded like a spoiled kid who didnt get his way. lebron brought him and city millions of dollars and national attention. gilbert should be blaming himself. the cavs made NO improvements. NY got amare, bosh to the heat, and boozer to the bulls. who did cleveland get? of course he isn’t going to stay, he would have the same team he had last year. I agree with jr. lyon i am a 100% lebron fan and support him wherever he goes

  • w1tness23

I didnt know the cavaliers existed before lebron so they should thank him for putting them on the map in front of the world instead of some team no ones heard of. Second they hate him because he left them. They should have surrounded him with some talent instead of signing some deadbeat(ie shaq, wallace, and jamison whose not a deadbeat but def not right for this team). Lebron tried his best he stayed 7 years and fell short. Dan gilbert need to grow up and not be such a baby. Yeh you lost lebron its your fault your gm didnt come through should have hired someone like the lakers gm. Hes prolly gonna sell the team after a year and making stupid ass commitments that they are gonna win before the heat lol. Yeh you gonna go through the celtics and magics too i guess. Allegations made by an immature person. All i can say is its fair for him to leave after all any athletes worst fear is not growing old without the gold and lebron def didnt want that. It wasnt for the money(he would have stayed with the cavs or went to the knicks)and it wasnt for the spotlight cuz now he will probably share it. It was for the gold and I’m sure that lebron will get it along side wade and bosh.

  • w1tness23

    *is growing old without

  • Nene33

Very interesting move, I wonder how the 3 of ’em will work together, and how the roles will be divided.

  • mOe23

LeBron’s move make Akron Ohio hysterical like you greg i agree what you said. He should be thankfull for what he bring to the table around the league. I personally have mix emotions, happy because his new team can be a championship caliber for around 3-5 years, sad because you didn’t stay. From the start i know he’s opting out why? because if he’s concerned from resigning he should have tell the cavs organization to upgrade the roster instead, if it didn’t happen then he should go like wade did but he didn’t. Another thing it’s wade’s team not LeBron, the 2 will most likely to be a sidekick to wade. All eyes on the 3 but since it is wade’s original, team LeBron is not on the spotlight.

  • I’m looking forward that the three of them has a good chemistry.. well I’m a solid LeBron Fan.. any where he goes, i will support him. For Cavs and GM Danny Gilbert… Felt sorry for them.. hopefully that “Karma” and “Curse” will goes back to you.. LeBron does not looking for money , i think for the lack for him is a championship ring and surely 100% he saw this to his new Team (Miami) and new Team mates (D-Wade & Bosh). Go go “The King”

  • rj

Dan Gilbert and all of Ohio should have realized that the hometown hero thing they were trying on LeBron was the only thing going for them. I’m a LeBron fan first, so as much as I wanted LeBron to go to Chicago, I guess I’ll be rooting for the Heat in the upcoming season. As for Bosh, he’s an idiot. He said he wanted to be a franchise player for the team he wants to play in, but he’ll never see that happen because he has LeBron and Wade with him. So far, Miami’s a team with three stars but an otherwise depleted roster.

  • mOe23

I know, We know all of us here in NLB were all rooting for the same thing that’s LeBron’s legacy. For sure, LeBron your the best thing that happen to this franchise. I ‘m not from Akron, Ohio but I pity them. A contract from the cavs which is a max salary contract plus the comforts of playing from your hometown is a benefit. Cavs organization didn’t lack of casting you a supporting cast from Delonte, To mo, Shaq Parker and Moon addition, plus a scoring PF like Jamison that says all. A very warm and welcoming support. Too bad for LeBron his like a wanted person around Ohio. Even Dan Gilbert curses you and fans burned your jersey.

  • mOe23

By the way LeBron says his changing his jersey number to 6. Now his in miami, he won’t be allowed because mario chalmers is #6 unless Chalmers is traded to somewhere else? I wonder what LeBron jersey # he wears..

  • LRJ6

Man, even Mo was disappointed. I feel sorry for the him, Dan Gilbert, and the rest of the cavs. Coz I really thought that LeBron will stay. Cavs fans like me felt betrayed coz of what he did. But still, Im a Lebron fan too. So i have to start liking Miami. I hope they can get a good roster. they only have mario chalmers right? they have to get a solid front court. still have a lot of work to do even though they have the new big three…

  • LRJ6

Ur right moe23. I still don’t know if mario will step down and give Bron the number or he’ll pack his bags and get shipped somewhere else. Do u think they need a better point guard? It’s hard to pick a free agent coz the point guard pool lacks in talent. Nate Robinson, Jordan Farmar, Kyle Lowry, Ramymond Felton and the others are not as good as the starters in other teams… Pat riley and the guys down there at miami still has a lot of work to do.

He will probably “convince” Mario to give it up.

  • Natedogg

    Go

  • Natedogg

    LEBRON

  • Natedogg

Anybody else see that his supposed dad was on TV said he is going to sue Lebron i think Kanye West said it best in the song “Forever” Your such a Fuc*ing loser

in the NBA you have to notify the league the season before you change your number, well that’s what they made Lebron do this last season. So I doubt Chalmers put in a change of number form with the league.

  • phoenixphire

I agree with everyone…i support Lebron in whatever he does…he gave Cle his all for 7 years….took them to the playoffs and beyond, and just couldnt get it done…i would have liked him to give it one more shot…BUT when it comes to winning, especially with a team like what they have now in D-Wade, and Bosh..things like that dont come around often…he HAD to jump on that opportunity. What im SMH @ is how he chose to do it…its like he dragged Cle and the organization outside, and shot holes in it, spit in its face, and then kicked it while it was down for good measure by doing it on national TV…again, this is just my honest opinion, but I think it was just a bit distasteful. That being said, im looking forward to him winning more rings than Kobe (hopefully), and looking forward to him releasing his shoes in Red/Black!!

    Go HEAT!

  • jh

and still not better then the la lakers but it was good 4 lebron to get out from the cavs

  • plkom

Lebron betrayed Cleveland. The streets are dangerous here now. There’s a whole city who wants his head. BOYCOTT NIKE LEBRON

I feel the disappointment that Cleveland natives have. But to act the way you’re acting is absurd. Anybody in their right mind would have done the same thing if they were in Bron’s shoes. Bron did not have a coach like Phil and supporting teammates such as Shaq(in his prime), Odom, Bynum, Gasol, etc to convince him to stay.

He had to do what he had to do! If he didn’t have an agenda, perhaps he would have stayed in Cleveland his whole career and retire without a ring.

  • jr_lyon

Lebron has already talked Mario Chalmers into giving him jersey #6. NBASTORE.com started selling Lebron Miami Heat #6 Jerseys last night. Chris Bosh is going to be jersey #00

  • jr_lyon

nevermind. it says on nbastore.com that the jersey number is subject to change.

  • man they say miami iz d wadez place itz bronz place now the reason i feel bad iz that ha cant cum bac now itz cool bron i still luve u (nohomo)

  • Sean Carlos

I’m not a Cleveland fan, but I will sure say that I was rooting on Lebron to become one of the best basketball players ever, and now it’s hard to root for him. Not just because he gave up and went to a super team to make the championship EASIER for him, but for what he did to his brand, and the way in which he made his decision.

Sure, it was partly the media who blew it all out of proportion, but there was no hardened stance needed for negotiations since they are all taking less money… and they way he let Cleveland fans down during the broadcast that they all knew would draw so much attention. He could’ve figured out a way that was a bit more classy and professional. You don’t tear the heart out of the fans who love you the most on a primetime special that YOU set up. You go to Cleveland and you tell them man to man about your decision and the emotions involved, you donate to some Cleveland charities, and you let them know they are loved and that you gave it your all.

You then go and let them know that you are not the king of basketball, and that you cannot live up to the hype and you appologize. I know its your choice, but in the end we expect you to be a top competitor and a champion and this is why you were the King. I’m not a Cavs fan but I did consider you the king of basketball with the potential to do great things. I wanted to see you dominate the league and laugh about it, not defer when the going gets tough.

Yes, I’m a Bulls fan and grew up watching Jordan and hearing his interviews about how much he had to WORK to win. He didn’t run from the hardship, he went to the gym and worked on his game to make sure he COULD put in the minutes that were required of a God of Basketball, he got himself in a winning mindstate. Kobe does this too, he wants the pressue and wants the responsibility and doesn’t shy from it.

From a marketing standpoint, you took a blow….I’m upset that you choose the easy way out because I did want you to grow and become the King. You didn’t need 7 championships… but hey, you wanted to win. Cool. Could’ve done it as the leader of a team like the Cavs, Knicks, or Bulls… instead of being second in Wade County.

You’ll probably come out the leader there in Miami, but you’ll still forever be known as the King who took the easy way out. Good Luck.

  • Nolongerawitness

Later bron. Didnt have an issue with u leaving. Just the way u did it. All the ppl that think the cavs did nothing to help him. Ur crazy. The team catered to his every wish. They got who was available. Some didnt want to come here. Some wouldnt unless they knew he was staying. Bron kept team handcuffed. Period. Go ahead and say Im wrong. Dan Gilbert is my hero.

  • Nolongerawitness

Lastly, TRY to convince me LBJ actually tried in the Boston series. Dude gave up. This plan was set in motion yrs ago.

  • Rodolfo

people who say lebron betrayed cleveland aren’t making sense 1st of all im a lebron fan so im going for the heat now, 2nd of all how has he betrayed cleveland when they were trying to force him to stay in cleveland and not just that they should appreciate 7 years of work and so that is how you know a lot of people werent real fans! As a matter of fact lebron said himself “all my real fans out there i hope yall can continue to support me” and well i am, and a few people on here are too so to the people who talk about lebron “betraying” cleveland should think about what the true cleveland fans are saying!

  • Dream Team 2k10

7 years is more than enough. I never thought they would do it but Wade, Bosh, LeBron u guys are gong to rule the world. Go Miami! The Dream Team is REAL!

  • MAN! SCREW DAN GILBITCH! He dont show no class at all. He should be thankful having Lebron for 7 long years. Cavs dont even help Lebron out at all and making Lebron doing all works for 7 long years. Its time Lebron to move and he made the right choice. It’s just business like Lebron said. I agreed with that. HHHOOO WAAAAAA!!!!! Its gonna be BAD ASS SHOW this coming season for the HEAT!

  • Nolongerawitness

Thats fine. Miami will see what Bron does under pressure….crack! Now all the bandwagon fans can out of woodwork. Also if u all were true cleveland fans, you’d root for the TEAM, not one player.

  • sik_one

Lebron fan is different from being a Cavs fan. Lebron fans supported Cleveland because Lebron was there. Plain and simple.

  • Sean Carlos

Well, who knows maybe this will motivate him to do some great things? If he starts to destroy everybody, then people will have to kind of shut up.

  • roadkillkitty

Thats why this is not called the “nikecavs.net” but “nikelebron.net”! Most of us are Lebron fans not cavs fans! I was cheering for the cavs because lebron was there.. So please State those negative vibes through the cavaliers website! Lets go get em Lebron!

  • Daris

I’m a Cavs fan, but honestly I wanted him to go anywhere but Miami. The Knicks, Nets, and Bulls are all northern teams so we would still have that and I almost think it would have been neat for him to sign with the Bulls or the Knicks and reignite one of those two historic NBA teams alongside Boozer and Rose or Stoudemire. Oh well..I’m still undecided with my fandom for the ’10-’11 season. I’ll always stay a Cavs fan, but Lebron is the reason why I’m such a big Cavs fan. I can still individually root for Lebron, but root against the Heat, right? ;-)

  • Nicks244

Man, I thought Lebron could have been this generations Jordon. Thats the reason I was starting to collect his shoes. Ah, well guess I’ll have to wait for someone like him to come again. Maybe John Wall or even my own Derek Rose
