header lebron 2010 mvp LeBron James Wins 2009 10 NBA Most Valuable Player Award
LeBron James has joined one of the NBA’s most exclusive clubs. Cleveland’s superstar was voted the league’s MVP for the second straight year, a person familiar with the announcement told The Associated Press on Friday. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the league has not announced the results of the vote. James, who averaged 29.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 8.6 assists this season, will receive the trophy Sunday at the University of Akron. The presentation by commissioner David Stern will come in front of Cleveland’s fans. The Cavaliers play the Boston Celtics on Monday in Game 2 of their second-round playoff series. James is the 10th NBA player to be the MVP in consecutive seasons. The 25-year-old star joins Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Moses Malone, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan and Steve Nash. Russell, Chamberlain and Bird won it three times in a row..

Throwback Thursday: A Second Look at the Stewie Zoom LeBron VI »

The Stewie Six was a special make up created by Nike for LeBron James… exclusively. Of course the inspiration for these shoes was Stewie Griffin – a cartoon character from Seth MacFarlane’s “The Family Guy”. Absolutely animated and dressed in Stewie’s signature colors, the LeBron VI’s are cell shaded and feature deep black outlines that are stylistically Family Guy. The toe portion of the shoe is dressed in Stewie’s yellow shirt and matching red overalls, and the blue accents on the midsoles are derived from his shoes. His evil eyes are hiding behind the tongue. While these kicks are definitely awesome, they are considered to be unreleased samples and will most likely never see the daylight. Click here to see the previous photos.

Nike LeBron VII P.S. (Post Season) MVPuppets Player Exclusive »

Finally some PEs. I really mean it! As great as the P.S’s are it’s hard to get excited with only four colorways announced by Nike thus far. Two of them have already been released to public. Remember the MVPuppets campaign from last year’s? Kobe & LeBron puppets have been around earlier this season as well, but now as the 2010 NBA Playoffs are in play they are nowhere to be seen. Seems like Nike is paying their tribute to the MVPs as a special colorway of the Nike LeBron VII P.S. have hit the Internet. There’s no more information other than that one photo below (courtesy of powderx94), but keep checking back for updates. What’s your take on these new LeBrons?

Cavs Knock out Bulls. Get Ready for Celtics. LeBron Dealing with Sore Elbow. »

The Cavaliers are thinking more about the Boston Celtics than exorcising ghosts of playoffs past, but on Thursday night – for the first time in five postseason tries – the Cavaliers topped the Bulls to advance in the East. The Wine and Gold knew the series wouldn’t be easy, and it wasn’t. The feisty young Bulls trailed by a dozen in the second quarter and by nine with 3:29 to play, but continued to claw their way back. It wasn’t until LeBron James split a pair of free throws with 7.8 to play that the Cavaliers got enough breathing space. The King shot his last free throw of the evening left-handed, after aggravating the right elbow that he tweaked in Sunday’s win in Chicago. Coming off an amazing 37-point triple-double in Sunday’s Game 4 blowout, LeBron never fully got untracked on Tuesday night. James finished with 19 points – notching 16 in the second half – barely missing his second straight trifecta with 10 boards, 9 assists and a pair of blocked shots.

Wearing Brons – Cavs Gear Up Air Max LeBron VII. Blair with 7 PS. »

When LeBron James has made a switch to a new shoe for the NBA Playoffs, so have his teamates. At least those who wear Nikes. LBJ has been rocking the Nike LeBron VII P.S. as he had already broken out three different colorways. However, several Cavaliers players laced up the old shoe – Air Max LeBron VII – in games 1-4 of the first round match up. The list includes Anthony Parker, Delonte West, and Anderson Varejao. Additionally, members of the Spurs organization have been spotted in LeBrons as well. George Hill has a busy shoes rotation, but he was seen in the all black AMLVII. His teammate Dejuan Blair is the only player besides The King, who decided to sport the Post Season version of the VII as he wore the POP colorway in yesterday’s game. Continue reading for a full report on LeBron’s current kicks in the NBA.

Cavs Crush Bulls. LeBron Delivers Fifth Career Playoff Triple-Double. »

The United Center will forever be known as The House that Jordan Built perhaps, but on Sunday afternoon, the new best number 23 rented it out for two memorable hours. In a performance that could only be described as Michael Jordanesque in nature, LeBron James carried the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 121-98 rout that left the Chicago Bulls on the brink of elimination in their Eastern Conference playoff series. The Cavaliers lead the best-of-seven affair, 3-1, and they can put the Bulls and the series to bed in Cleveland on Tuesday night. James finished with 37 points, 12 rebounds, 11 assists, two steals, one blocked shot and one prediction. “We’re going home to win the series,” he said to anyone within earshot en route to the locker room afterward. “This will be the last time you’ll see us in Chicago.” After the way that James played at both ends of the court, nobody was heard to argue with him. In Game Four LBJ debuted the Black/White/Red colorway of the Nike LeBron VII P.S.

Nike Air Max LeBron VII (7) Red Carpet in High Definition »

When all is said and done, the Red Carpet edition of the Nike Air Max LeBron VII might become one of the best LeBron shoes ever. The so called Red Carpet was supposed to be a reference to The King’s luxurious lifestyle, however, it was made for a premiere of his More Than a Game documentary. That’s the connection to the movies. Additionally, the real inspiration was the memorable and very controversial cover from Vogue presenting Gisele Bundchen & LeBron James in an ambiguous scenario. In the end, we’ve got ourselves a very beautiful looking shoe. I am glad Nike went NFW on the Red Carpets… makes them unique. We’ve got some old pics that have never been posted, so please be sure to check them out after the break. There are some nice shots.

Nike Zoom Soldier PE – LeBron James’ Baseball Cleats »

Baseball cleats occupy a big part of the shoes industry, especially in the U.S.A. They have their own line of sneakers, including several signature models. However, every now and then they borrow some designs from basketball and make them into cleats. For example the Nike Huarache 2k4, which was a big hit on the ballpark. During his short baseball career Micheal Jordan has had a lot of his shoes transfered into cleats. Seems like Nike has tried that for LeBron James too as photos presenting his Zoom Soldier “cleated” have surfaced the Internet. The result… it looks very interesting, but see for yourself after the break.
