St. Mary opened her doors in 1897; St. Vincent followed suit in 1907. And Akron, Ohio’s first two Catholic schools merged to form SVSM in 1972. Perhaps no high school legend is more synonymous with both his personal and school-wide success than LeBron James. The 2008-09 NBA Most Valuable Player led SVSM to more than 100 wins, back-to-back-to-back-to-back state championship game appearances, three titles and the 2003 High School National Championship. Before becoming the youngest player in NBA history to reach 10,000 career points, LeBron was the first player in Ohio high school basketball history to be named Mr. Basketball three times. And don’t think he let all that success go to his head – part of what makes him so great is never forgetting where he came from. So LeBron hooked up the next generation of Fighting Irish with new kicks for their road to the 2009 Ohio State Championship. Check out the pics below and tell us what you think about the Zoom LeBron VI St. Vincent-St. Mary Home and Away PEs.
