Nike Air Max LeBron VII Artist Series Beijing by Li Quiqui »

Nike introduced the fourth in a series of limited-edition styles of the new Nike Air Max LeBron VII. Additionally, LeBron James received a one-of-a-kind customized version of his latest signature shoe as a gift from local Beijing artist. At a presentation that took place during Nike’s grassroots activities in Beijing, Le Quiqui gave James a uniquely designed pair of Air Max LeBron VII shoes. Le Quiqui was inspired by the idea of Old Beijing, which is the translation for LeBron’s nickname in China, “Lao Beijing”. The designer chose gold as the key color, which represents the sun’s power and the imperial heritage of the city. The Si He Courtyard on the shoe exemplifies Beijing’s unique architectural style in the traditional days of the city. The shape is exaggerated to spell out the letters LBJ. Traditional Beijingese place proverbs on the gate pillars of their homes. The proverb in the design means “keep going, don’t stop”, which ties back to LeBron’s unstoppable and “bring everything” attitude on the court. The lion on the shoe represents the two stone lions that are frequently present in traditional Chinese architecture at the home gates to show prestige and status. The lion is also one of LeBron’s signature symbols. “The eye at the back of the shoe is my good wish to LeBron… I wish for him to always have full visibility both on court and off court,” says Quiqui Li Quiqui is 28-years-old and draws his inspiration from the Beijing’s art and street culture. His work includes Animation, Graphic Design, Graffiti and Skateboard Design.

Recap From LeBron James’ King For Kids Bike-a-thon in Akron »

The U.S. Olympic teammates and close friends rode through the city’s streets Saturday as James hosted his annual “King for Kids” charity bike-a-thon. James and Paul pushed the pace in the lead group of bicyclists, pedaling past James’ former high school, St. Vincent-St. Mary, and the city’s zoo on the 8-mile route. James, of course, was the first to cross the finish line. The ride was an 8-mile circuit through James’ hometown. The Cavaliers’ superstar was joined by TV host Nick Cannon, Cleveland coach Mike Brown and Cavs general manager Danny Ferry. LeBron James, who’s been recently seen rocking the Zoom LeBron VI Low wore the Nike Air Max 2009+ in the Black/Red colorway. Seems like he really like the new Air Max units.

Nike Zoom LeBron VI Triple Black Wear Test Sample – NO LOGO »

Over the last year we showcased several Zoom LeBron VI production samples. Not to mention the Zoom Power prototype. There was a White and Black edition, which didn’t make it all the way to the stores and couple Black, White and Red samples – #1 | #2 – including single and triple stitched midsole. This time, however, we wanna give you a peek at the All Black Wear Test Sample version of The Six. What’s distinctive about this one is no logos whatsoever. Zero. Nada. The person, who tested them might not even have known whose signature shoe he or she was wearing. There’s no L23 on the collar tab. There’s no ‘VI’ or ‘The Six’ on the top of the tongue and no Lion Head below that. The Graffiti on the inside might have been the only clue. No wonder we had to wait so long for any photographic evidence of the ZLVI. Photos courtesy of Zach13g.

Preview of the Beijing Limited Edition Nike Air Max LeBron VII »

The “More Than a Game” Tour has shifted to China. After three stops in the U.S. LeBron James and his crew are going to visit Beijing, Shenyang, Shanghai (in that exact order). We profiled the China Artist Series shoes, and here’s a preview of the first city exclusive edition of the Nike Air Max LeBron VII – Beijing. Of course it’s the same SVSM-inspired colorway, as all previous ones, with a different inset from the MTAG movie (LeBron doing his pre-game ritual) and the city name on the back of the air unit. More photos after the jump.
