LBJ and Cavs Going Home. James Skips Media After Game 6 Loss. »

It’s over. Orland Magic sent LeBron James home. #23 walked off the court, head down, brushing off a few pieces of confetti. He ignored the few taunts by Magic fans and took one last look at the crowd without muttering a word. Not to anyone. A scintillating series by the NBA’s MVP was washed away by his not-so-supporting cast, as the Cleveland Cavaliers were eliminated Saturday night with a 103-90 loss to the Orlando Magic in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals. Kobe vs. LeBron? Not this year. James dressed quickly in the locker room, put on headphones and went to the team bus without talking to reporters. In obvious frustration, he let his play do all the talking. James averaged more than 38 points, eight rebounds and eight assists for the series, performances that are almost unmatched in league history. But he is starving for a wingman. That league-best, 66-win regular season disappeared against a Magic team that accounted for six of the Cavs’ losses this season, counting the playoffs. Cleveland may have had the best player. Orlando had the better team.

Nike Basketball MVPuppets – KB24 & LBJ23 – Lil Dez »

Kobe and LeBron have been living together for a while now. In the fifth installment of Nike’s MVPuppets they are babysitters to Lil Dez – Mrs Lewis’ (their downstairs neighbor) son. Liz Dez is clearly amazed by the presence of two MVPs and has a lot of questions, but fortunately #23 and #24 find a way to shut him up. Best episode for sneakerheads… that’s for sure.

King Does It All. Gets Triple-Double. Keeps Cavs Alive. »

The Cavaliers are heading back to Florida, their wondrous season still alive. LeBron James wouldn’t let it end. James, showing off every dimension of his unstoppable game, had 37 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists, and Mo Williams, who boldly predicted the Cavs would come back and win this tight-as-can-be series, added 24 points in a 112-102 victory over the Orlando Magic in Game 5 on Thursday night. The Magic overcame a 22-point deficit but missed their first opportunity to close out the Cavaliers, who are trying to become just the ninth team since 1947 to rally and win a series after being down 3-1. James scored 21 points in the second half — 17 in the fourth quarter — and had a hand in Cleveland’s first 29 points in the final 12 minutes. The last player to post at least 37-14-12 in a playoff game was Oscar Robertson in 1963. LeBron James can score with anybody. He can leap to the rafters, shift the basket stanchion with his strength, move with the grace of a dancer. But what separates him from the other greats of this generation — Kobe, D-Wade, Melo — and any generation, is his court vision. His ability to facilitate like the finest point guards in the game and still put up 35, 40 points.

New Photos and Release Reminder – The Six M-V-P Limited Edition »

The MVP Six popped up on NDC on 5/5 and 5/22 at nikestore.com. On both occasions they sold out within minutes. Lucky those, who received a shipping confirmation, cause it’s unclear when will the rest arrive. On the 30th of May, all 3 House of Hoops stores and Foot Locker NYC on 34th St. will receive their batch of the ZLVI Most Valuable Player Edition sneakers. Quantities are limited (similar to the City Pack), and we are hearing about <100 pairs for each HOH so it’s good to be prepared. A possible restock on NDC is also in play, but just like the last two times don’t expect to have an early notification. Of course check back to NLB.net for a full coverage. LBJ, Cavaliers Fall into 1-3 Hole After an OT Thriller in Orlando »

The Cleveland Cavaliers were down 2 with seconds remaining. Cavalier Nation was in panic mode, thousands certainly afraid to look at their televisions, thousands more certainly on the brink of tears. But this time, a miracolous buzzer beating shot would be more difficult. The Orlando Magic had learned their lesson after letting LeBron James squirt free for a game-winning 3-pointer in Game 2. This time, they put two defenders on him. This time, it seemed like he wouldn’t even get the ball. This time his 38-footer didn’t contain a miracle. This time, there would be no talk of history, no talk of exorcising demons of seasons past. This time, James could not save the Cavs. He hit an absolutely sick 3-pointer from in front of the Orlando bench as his momentum was carrying him out of bounds with 4.1 seconds left, making it a one-point game, but his special powers dried up at the end as his last-gasp shot from just inside midcourt, near the scorer’s table, was off-target.

Wearing Brons – Cavs Follow LBJ and Go Zoom Soldier 3 All the Way »

In the last game against the Orlando Magic, the starting five of the Cavaliers were wearing LeBron James’ Nike shoes. In the previous round Mo Williams and Delonte West joined LBJ and Big Z, who rocked the ZSII, by wearing the Nike Zoom Soldier III. In Game 3 of the ECF seven Cavs players were spotted in the new Soldier, even the big guys – Ben Wallace, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Anderson Varejao, Tarence Kinsey, Delonte West, Mo Williams, and of course LeBron James. Too bad all that support didn’t result in a truly united performance, but let’s hope tonight it will make a difference. Photos of the LEBRON ARMY after the break.

Nike Zoom Soldier III – White and Navy (141) – Kids vs Mens »

The anticipated White and Navy colorway of the Nike Zoom Soldier III is scheduled to be released on 6/12 (launch date). As always keep your eyes peeled as they are starting to pop up early (for example at Vault in Harlem, NYC). Both Mens and Kids will be available soon at Nike retailers. There’s one interesting difference between them. Mens’ version have the midfoot straps directed inwards while in the case of the Grade School model they reach to the outside. Fortunately, after the first batch of 20-5-5′s, which had some problems with the straps, Nike has improved on that matter significantly and they are much better now.
