King James Named NBA’s Player of the Month for January »

Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James was named as the NBA’s Eastern Conference Player of the Month presented by KIA for games played in the month of January. In 14 games during the month, James averaged 27.5 points on .456 shooting, 9.6 rebounds and 8.1 assists per game. James has now won the award for the ninth time in his career: for the second time this season (November); two times during 2007-08, once in 2006-07, twice in 2005-06 and twice during the 2004-05 campaign. The last player to have at least James’ averages in a month, for points, rebounds and assists was Larry Bird in March 1987. He scored 20 or more points in 13 games and 30 or more points six times. James led the team to a 10-4 record during the month, helping Cleveland to 10 or more wins in three consecutive months for the second time in franchise history (Dec.-Feb. 1988-89). Source cavs.com.

Top 10 LeBron James Plays of the 2009 NBA Season »

LeBron is having another of those record breaking seasons. Last night, he became the fastest player in NBA history to reach the 12,000-point plateau. At 24 years, 35 days, he did it quicker than Los Angeles superstar Kobe Bryant, who was 25 years, 220 days. Additionally, when you watch him play he constantly makes you say “did he really do that?”… like for example after last night’s block on Chris Bosh. That’s on a daily basis. Check out LeBron James’ top 10 plays of the 2008-2009 season so far. Also, if you think LeBron James’ top ten is pretty amazing, find out what didn’t make the cut in the second video after the jump.

More Team Bank Soldiers – Zoom Soldier III Breakdown »

Just like for the past two years, the new Zoom Soldier will be looking to debut during the upcoming Playoffs as LeBron James will most likely switch from his main sneaker for the year – The Six – to his secondary model. Although, it would be nice to see King James rocking the VI in the post-season in some crazy colorways, seems like that’s just the way it is. Also, as usual, after the signature release in the summertime, Nike will release several Team Bank styles in the Fall. Just like in the case of the ZSII, the logo on the tongue is what sets them apart. LeBron’s sig version features the Dunkman logo, while the TBs have the Elite Basketball. Here are some details about the third Zoom Soldier installment: UPPER: Combination of full-grain and synthetic leather with lightweight lock down straps for support. MIDSOLE: Cushlon midsole with encapsulated Zoom Air unit in the heal and forefoot for maximum cushioning and luxury ride. OUTSOLE: Traditional Nike herringbone with flex groves for optimal traction and flexibility to help enhance natural motion.
