Los Angeles ’04 All-Star Game LeBron James Rare AZGs »

LeBron James did not play in the 2004 NBA All-Star Game, but his kicks game was already serious back then. For that short time he was “The Unchosen One.” LeBron James was not among the reserves for the All-Star Game. James was unable to beat out Eastern Conference guards Paul Pierce, Michael Redd, Baron Davis and Jason Kidd. He still could make the team if one of the East All-Stars was injured, but he didn’t want to be named a replacement. “I wasn’t part of the ones that they picked at first, so I wouldn’t even like to be a part of the team if somebody didn’t go,” James said. “I’m an only child and I never want to be picked second. I don’t come second.” “Not making it just tells me I’ve got to work harder,” said James, “I’ve been earning a lot of things this year — earning the respect of players, the respect of refs. That’s another thing I’ve got to earn, to be a part of the elite group.” Too bad he didn’t make the cut, cause Nike instead of releasing the LeBron James x All-Star Game pack had to get rid of it using the outlets, but of course the shoes didn’t stay there long. Back to the shoes… we profiled his Special Make Up for the Los Angeles All-Star Game several times already (here and here). However, as usual, there are various implementations of the Air Zoom Generation ASG PE. If you’ve been up-to-date with the AZG listing you’ve seen at least 3 of them – ASG White Sample, ASG Grey Sample, and ASG ‘LA’ PE. This week, courtesy of PO2345 we’ve learned there’s another shoe commemorating LeBron James not playing in the 2004 All-Star. The fourth version of this already rare Player Exclusive, which makes this one ‘ultra rare’, is the same as the ‘regular’ PE, but has an additional #23 stitched on the back – LeBron’s AZG PE emblem. Don’t forget that apart from the ASG kicks there’s a special sneaker that actually did taste the Hardwood during the All-Star Weekend – the Wheat edition. Bron rocked the Timberland-inspired-Gold-colored AZG in the Rookie Challenge cause that wouldn’t be legal during the regular season. There are at least two versions of that one as well – King James’ PE and the public edition.

United We Rise USA Basketball ZSII Tribal Showcase »

With a little delay caused by the Zoom LeBron VI making its way to the press and the “unexpected” USA win in the Beijing Olympics, we’re here to hold the given word. We promised a showcase of LeBron James’ USA shoes and we start things off with the “United We Rise” Zoom Soldier II. Photos of his Olympic shoes have been posted several times already, but this time we get all into the details with this classic NikeLeBron.net-esque showcase. King James wore four different shoes throughout the Summer Games, but if you’re up-to-date you know that by now. Expect a similar feature on the Friendlies edition soon. ZLVI UWR will require some additional effort and time so it might take a while, but you can always check back the practice shots – still the best photos on the Internet. Massive number of pics available after the jump so make sure you’ve got an Internet connection up for it.
