2008 NBA Playoffs R2G2: Cavaliers Fall Short in Game 2 »

Paul Pierce and Ray Allen found their shooting touch. LeBron James can only hope he left his in Cleveland. One night can be written of as a fluke, but now Cleveland fans have to be worried. Armed with amazing team defense, the Celtics have cut off LeBron James from the lane and successfully forced him to settle for outside jump shots for two full games. James was named to the All-NBA First Team, but has looked anything but in this series — shooting 8-of-42, or just 19 percent, from the floor. “Being down 0-2, that’s a tough hole to dig yourself out of. But if we want to win the series we’ve got to do it,” James said, noting the Cavaliers lost the first two games to Detroit in last year’s playoffs but won four straight to reach the NBA Finals. “We’ve been in this situation before,” said James, who offered encouragement along the bench as the final seconds ticked off. “I’ve got to let them know that I’m not frustrated.”

LeBron James Named All-NBA First Team »

Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James was named to the All-NBA First Team today by the NBA. He has been an All-NBA selection in each of the past four seasons (1st team in 2005-06 and 2007-08 and 2nd team in 2004-05 and 2006-07). He joins Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Steve Nash and Dirk Nowitzki as the only five players to be named at least All-NBA Second Team in each of the past three seasons. During the 2007-08 season, James led the NBA in scoring at 30.0 points per game while adding 7.9 rebounds, 7.2 assists and 1.8 steals per game. He became just the third player in NBA history to average at least 30.0 points, 7.9 rebounds and 7.2 assists per game (Oscar Robertson and Michael Jordan). In addition to leading the NBA in scoring, he ranked eighth in assists per game, 10th in steals per game and second in triple-doubles (7). He became the Cavaliers franchise leader in points scored on March 21 surpassing Brad Daugherty who finished his Cavs career with 10,389 points. James joins Mark Price as the only two players in team history to be named All-NBA selections four times. James helped lead the Cavaliers to a 45-37 record and their third consecutive appearance in the NBA playoffs. The only other teams in the NBA with 45 or more wins in each of last three seasons are Dallas, Detroit, Phoenix and San Antonio. The All-NBA Teams were chosen by a panel of 127 sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada. The media voted for All-NBA First, Second and Third Teams by position with points awarded on a 5-3-1 basis. Source: cavs.com.
